INDOOR SKYDIVE AUSTRALIA GROUP

AirRider Project on Macbook Pro

My involvement in the ISA Group website builds for both the Australian based website (iFly Downunder) and the Malaysian based website (AirRider) was as Front End Developer primarily taking PSD designs and creating interactive web pages. This has been a ten month contract with both websites requiring a total build using modules to display packages and prices, news and events, FAQs along with a booking and payment system complete with voucher purchase and redeem and contact-us page.

Components used to build these websites include; Flickity for responsive carousels, Select2 for custom dropdown styling, Isotope to sort and display elements, Bootstrap Accordion for FAQs along with Font Awesome for social media icons and the inclusion of video and Google Maps.

Technical aspects of both websites also include; responsive design with image optimisation along with the use of Bootstraps; flexbox, tabs, modals, fields and forms in addition to styling third party components.

The 8Secondz website is feature rich and required a creative approach to resolving technical design aspects; keyframe animations for circular moving text, parallax footer, Bootstrap accordion for FAQs, custom jQuery image stack, dynamic text sizing and dual panel scrolling.

I have a common approach to project setup using the tools currently most suited to a quick startup and effective development. I use Bower to install frontend tools like Bootstrap for responsive design and Font Awesome for widely recognised social media and business icons and the Sass preprocessor with Gulp for task automation.

PIMP MY CAUSE
Women Hack for Non Profits is a program for women in tech to write open source software for non profit organisations. One such organisation approached WHFNP to rebuild their website a company called 'Pimp My Cause' who provide volunteers the opportunity to support good causes while developing their skills.

Pimp Project on Macbook Pro

In my capacity as front end developer on the Pimp My Cause project I built the front page according to specification while also adapting the design for responsive behaviour. The technologies I used were Zurb Foundation framework, HTML5, CSS3, Sass and Grunt to run tasks.

I worked within a team of women to produce a total solution for the client with regular client meetings. The project was managed using JIRA and a SCRUM approach with weekly stand ups. The demands and work practices comparable to any such industry based project provided me with real world experience as a Front End Developer.

MEET ME /

I am a Front End Developer that thrives on the challenge of taking a design and making it into an enjoyable user experience. I enjoy the feeling of taking flat designs and creating an interactive responsive website that lives and looks professional it's all about getting the small details right. I also like to try out the latest front end technologies, frameworks; for the best responsive behaviour and most compatible features and tools; automating tasks for speed and efficiency.

My working history commenced in Adelaide as a Desktop Applications Developer and continued as the same in London followed by a position in education before returning to industry as a Front End Developer. I'm now working in Sydney and keen to continue working centrally as it's convenient to Manly where I currently live.

I enjoy an outdoors lifestyle of exercise on the beach anything from ocean swimming, running to beach yoga. I also enjoy coastal walks, touring holidays, theatre, eating out and coffee.
